Getting internet traffic to your blog isn’t as hard as you might think BUT getting targeted traffic is. One of the easiest and quickest ways to get interested people to visit your website is to write a blog post every day.
To do that you have to read about your niche often, write and publish. Don’t try to be perfect. You can always edit your post later. What will happen eventually is the keywords and phrases that you will write about naturally will be picked up by search engines like Google. After a while, you won’t need to write every day any more because your blog will be “indexed.”
Write every day and publish immediately.
Search engine technology has evolved to the point that we don’t have to be extremely technical with keyword strategies any more. If you just write enough content about the same topic, your web content will automatically start getting indexed by the search engines. It will start showing up on Google for more keywords than you actually use.
Visitors from real people to your blog will find you if you commit to publishing what you write.
I used to leave posts in draft form unpublished for days so that I could keep working on them until they were closer to “perfect.”
Don’t do that! Simply write like you talk and publish.
Publish your first draft. You can always come back later and improve what you’ve written.
Every Search Engine’s Goal
Remember, search engines are trying to help searchers. Your target market will search for the same topics you search for so make sure your blog posts have the same phrases you would use if you were searching Google for your favorite topics.
Write how you think. And consider at least one of “the 3 E’s” while your write.
I learned about the 3 E’s of writing from Charles Heflin – the creater of Synnd:
- Educational or
- Enlightening or
And I would also add:
- Encouraging or
Add Eye-catching Photos
Early on, I liked using my own photos because there wasn’t any need for buying a license to use images I photographed myself. Like the image on the right, you can simply add text to your own images with software provided by websites like Canva.
Use Social Media To Optimize Your Blog
Now that we can use social media to market our blog content, search engine optimization (SEO) is a lot easier. When you upload your blog posts on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook, search engines pay more attention to your blog, especially if you are getting shares, likes and tweets.
Never underestimate the power of social media. The power of online referral is well worth the effort of setting up a Facebook Business Page, a Twitter account, and Pinterest – to name a few.
