Marketing TO people is just the beginning.  It’s how you get people into your sales funnel.  Learning to apply sound marketing principles to get interested people into your marketing funnel isn’t as hard as you might think. It begins with the understanding that at the top of your marketing funnel is NOT where you sell. That happens later, in the sales cycle. Funnel first, then circle.

The Sales Cycle – Marketing BETWEEN People

Marketing BETWEEN people is deep inside the marketing funnel.  It works for many reasons when integrated with a professional marketing funnel. Why? Because the sales cycle has a lot to do with repeat sales and referrals.

And if you add the power of the internet using social media marketing, your business can go global in record time.

But you can’t start with just the sales cycle. Many people online try to do that without pre-selling and they do it quite unsuccessfully. You can’t sell to people before they are interested.  One of the best ways to pre-sell online is inside social media sites like Facebook but you have to be really careful.  The same is true offline.  Pre-selling in person is especially effective  offline inside business networking events.

When done right, social media marketing and business networking can be extremely powerful in getting others to spread the word about your business.  So remember, first the funnel, then the circle!
